Mark McWilliams
CEO
Mark McWilliams served as Director of Cell Imaging and Analysis at Beckman Coulter after the recent sale of Q3DM to Beckman in December 2003. Mark was President and Chief Executive Officer and Director of Q3DM, a life-sciences startup that raised several angel and venture capital funding rounds. Previously, Mark was founder and COO of Medication Delivery Devices (MDD), an alternate care infusion systems company that was acquired by Baxter Healthcare in 1996. Mr. McWilliams served as a VP of Research and Development at Baxter Healthcare for three years following the sale of MDD. Prior to MDD, Mark served as Product Development Manager at the founding of Block Medical where he was responsible for bringing the company’s first two FDA approved products rapidly to market. Block was sold to Hillenbrand Industries in 1991. Mark previously worked for Hughes Aircraft, Vacuum General and Martin Marietta. He earned his MSME from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his BSME from Northeastern University and holds eight utility patents.
David Loynd
CFO
David has over 30 years of financial management and information technology
experience. He gained experience in commercial credit, capital markets, and
software quality assurance with major corporations including Scotiabank and
Bank of Montreal. He has also been involved in numerous agile,
entrepreneurial projects, including several in the life sciences. A CPA, he
is active in economic and business development in Southern Arizona.
Kent Smith
VP Sales and Marketing
Kent was the VP of Sales and Marketing for Suros Surgical Systems which was acquired by Hologic for 10 x’s revenues. Prior to this role, he was the CEO of a biotech company, Cytomedix. He worked for Baxter Healthcare for 20 years and was President of Baxter Japan Cardiovascular Business, VP/GM of Baxter’s IV Systems Interlink Business and VP of Operations for American Hospital Supply. Kent has a BS in Business Administration from UNC in Chapel Hill and a Masters degree from Northwestern Univ. in Evanston, Il
Bill Bloom
VP Engineering
Bill has been the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of a series of business start-ups in the electronics and medical device field. The companies include CardioNet (NASDAQ Market Cap of $430M), SegWave Inc. (Student computers), Fluid Dynamics Medical Systems (Medical pumps) and Manhattan Instruments (Drug analysis). He had an early corporate career as a Medical Device Engineer, Program Director, Vice President R&D and Vice President of Operations for a series of large medical electronics and device manufacturers. (Baxter, Raychem, Pharmaseal, MiniMed) before leaving to start his own ventures.
Marie Biskup-Wesselhoft
Director of Business Development
Marie has been a healthcare executive with extensive experience in both the industry and provider sides of the market. Marie has a successful track record in managing, positioning, and launching new product lines for companies such as Misys Healthcare and Cardinal Health. Marie will be responsible for business development and strategic partnering for Medipacs.
Sonia Vohnout
Systems Engineer
Sonia graduated from the University of Arizona with a Master of Science in Systems Engineering. She has helped companies improve and maximize their profits, implemented and maintained ISO 9001:2000 Quality System in manufacturing plants in Mexico. Sonia will be responsible for overall system architecture and systems engineering. Sonia is also an infusion pump patient and provides a users perspective. She is an advocate of the Medipacs infusion pump.
