Headquartered in San Diego, California, Medipacs is focused on commercializing the first non-mechanical infusion pump based on a new, expandable polymer. The Medipacs novel polymer technology enables drug infusion pumps are that are wearable, programmable and disposable to allow for greater accuracy, patient comfort and convenience at a lower cost.

The Medipacs infusion pump can be used to deliver drugs that are currently transfused or injected including biologic medications, insulin, hormones, fertility drugs, anti-coagulation drugs and pain medication. Traditional methods of delivering these drugs can be expensive, complicated, inconvenient and uncomfortable because they require significant nurse time and complex capital equipment; are prone to infection and medical errors; and require multiple needle sticks.

Medipacs has received Series A funding from Trailhead Ventures, Mesa Verde Ventures, angel investors and management.  Medipacs was selected from more than 45 applicant companies to be a member of EvoNexus the free incubator for San Diego-based start-up companies. As a result, the company receives fully furnished office space, utilities, broadband, equipment and mentoring. Medipacs is also a member of the Arizona Center for Innovation, a high tech incubator promoting the development of high technology companies.
