Mark Banister, Founder and Chief Technical Officer

Mark Banister is the inventor of the Medipacs pump system and unique polymer actuator materials. He has 5 issued patents and 16 pending patents and has authored several published technical papers on smart polymer materials and devices. Mark has over 30 years of experience in business, product design, polymer chemistry, mechanical engineering, manufacturing and tooling design. Currently the PI on a National Science Foundation STTR Phase II Grant, Mark has been able to leverage over $1M in grant funding into over $3M in angel funding.

Mark McWilliams, Chief Executive Officer


Mark McWilliams served as Director of Cell Imaging and Analysis at Beckman Coulter after the recent sale of Q3DM to Beckman in December 2003. Mark was President and Chief Executive Officer and Director of Q3DM, a life-sciences startup that raised several angel and venture capital funding rounds. Previously, Mark was founder and COO of Medication Delivery Devices (MDD), an alternate care infusion systems company that was acquired by Baxter Healthcare in 1996. Mr. McWilliams served as a VP of Research and Development at Baxter Healthcare for three years following the sale of MDD. Prior to MDD, Mark served as Product Development Manager at the founding of Block Medical where he was responsible for bringing the company’s first two FDA approved products rapidly to market. Block was sold to Hillenbrand Industries in 1991. Mark previously worked for Hughes Aircraft, Vacuum General and Martin Marietta. He earned his MSME from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his BSME from Northeastern University and holds eight utility patents.

Mark Van Veen, Vice President of Engineering


Mark Van Veen has over 30 years of experience in engineering management and new product development.  He was previously Engineering Manager with PhotoThera, a medical device company treating ischemic stroke, a Principal Engineer and Project Manager with Hewlett Packard and Principal Reliability Engineer with Alaris Medical.  His technical skills include project management, team leadership, mechanical design, design analysis and systems engineering.  He has demonstrated innovation in medical devices, digital imaging, fluid control systems, and ink jet printing.  He earned his B.S. in Engineering Science, Applied Mechanics from the University of California at San Diego.

Anthony DeLizza, Vice President of Marketing


Tony DeLizza has over 25 years experience as a developer, marketer, general manager, and business development executive in the fields of home medical devices, laboratory tests, point-of-care tests, and disease management services. The majority of his career has been in management positions at Syva Company, a Syntex company, and LifeScan, a Johnson & Johnson company. As a Business Development Director at Johnson & Johnson, Tony reviewed, created and presented business cases, business plans, and marketing plans for a variety of healthcare technologies.

Susan Feiner, Chief Financial Officer


Susan Feiner is founder of Feiner Financial Resources, which provides outsourced CFO services to start up companies. Susan was previously CFO of Intellidot, a venture funded developer and marketer of patient safety solutions for hospitals. Prior to Intellidot, Susan was CFO at Woodside Biomedical, a venture funded medical device company. Susan was previously Director of Finance at Cypress Bioscience and held various management roles in the accounting and finance groups at Pyxis Corporation. She started her career in the San Diego office of Ernst & Young after obtaining her BBA from the University of San Diego.
